Reflections On Europe’s Contemporary Demographic Concerns

In response to the aging and decline of Europe’s population, some have suggested that mass immigration is a solution to the problems that these trends present. This article describes the European migration debate; considers data pertinent to European demography and immigration; and recommends reform of the welfare state as a better long-term strategy by which to address the aging and decline of Europe’s population.
